AIIMS ONCE AGAIN
Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss should be sacked at least from post of Chairperson of New Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences, if not from the Union Cabinet for continuing to play dirty politics in ’s premier institute to settle personal scores with AIIMS Director Dr P Venugopal. It was indeed shocking and surprising that resident-doctors agitating for not getting degrees for last two years, were forcibly taken to police-vans for fault of those responsible for not signing degrees. Students have a right to get degrees within a reasonable time after passing the examinations. However Anbumani Ramadoss in his capacity as Union Health Minister should take concrete steps to ensure that huge amount of public-money spent on educating in medical colleges should not be allowed to be wasted as brain-drain. This can be done by having necessary bonds filled before grant of admissions in government-run medical colleges. Passports of those breaking bond-undertaking can be forfeited.
